Key points:
- Out-of-area students must only book a test at least 3 months away to allow us time to check our availability, assign an instructor, arrange an assessment, and agree a price and payment plan.
- We can provide accommodation suggestions for students who need to stay locally during their course week.
- We are unable to help individuals who fail to provide us with adequate notice (at least 3 months) and/or are unwilling to commit to an assessment and any recommended follow-up lesssons.
- We strongly urge students who are from outside our catchment area to communicate with us before booking a test date. Please complete this form to begin the conversation.
An important notice to out-of-area learners.
We have recently been experiencing an increased volume of enquiries from students who do not live in our catchment area that have booked a test within our area and are expecting us to accommodate them with little to no notice.
These enquiries are normally for very last minute driving tests, taking place over the next 3 -4 weeks, and from students who do not have a car to take the test in.
As a professional driving school, we only allow our own pupils – people we have trained and properly assessed – to use our cars for tests. This helps ensure that our students, examiners, the public, and our vehicles are all kept safe.
Our cars are our livelihood. We do not hire them out to strangers. We do not offer 2 hours of lessons and allow you to use or hire our cars for a test. We would never do this; there is far too much risk involved.
If you book a driving test outside the area you live in, it is your own responsibility to ensure that you have a reliable way to attend and take the test.
All of our students that are looking for an intensive course are expected to have an assessment lesson with an instructor ideally in the first 4 weeks after that initial contact and are required to do all lessons that are needed to ensure they are safe enough to take their test.
Our instructors are well within their rights to refuse use of their cars if you do not comply with our guidelines or if you are not safe, in our opinion, to take a driving test.
At the moment, too many people are booking test slots that are last minute that they will not realistically be able to use, which results in valuable test slots being taken away from our existing students that are ready and able to pass.
Should you wish to consider an intensive course within our area and you are from outside of Kent, please only book a test if it is at least 3 months away to allow us plenty of time to arrange an instructor, assessment session, price, and payment plan for you.
We can also suggest local accommodation for you during your intensive course, which will likely be required if you are travelling from out of area.
Unfortunately if you cannnot meet these requirements, we cannot be held responsible if you are unable to attend a test you have booked and lose your payment as a result.
We are very happy to help as many people as we can and we take pride in doing so, but it is the learner’s responsibility to communicate with us in advance of booking a test to avoid disappointment and financial loss.
If you wish to enrol for future dates and intensive courses please fill out a form here and we will do what we can to help you if we can.
